SHIPPING
ARRIVED.—JuIy 6. Kent, b.s. (noon), 9,857 tons,. E. R. Kemp,- from Glasgow via Panama. KENT FROM GLASGOW. The Federal steamer Kent, from Glasgow via Panama, berthed at Port Chalmers to-day to commence loading meat and other produce. She is due to sail for Oamaru on Friday. The Kent came out in ballast, leaving Glasgow on May 27, and moderate weather prevailed across the Atlantic. Oil fuel was replenished at Curacoa. Balboa was left on June 12, and a fine run ensued until heavy southerly and westerly weather was encountered ten days ago. It continued rough until the vessel’s arrival here. The speed was eased through the worst spells, and the vessel came through it undamaged. Captain E. R. Kemp retains command, and his officers are: —Messrs L. Gann (chief), H. K. Cookerill (second), T. S. Marchington, R.N.R. (third), R. H. Browne (fourth), J. Walker (chief engineer), P. Woodall (second), W. Watson (chief refrigerator), and F. Freeman (chief steward). SLIGHT MISHAP TO TRIONA. Entering Suva Harbour to-day, the Triona, from Auckland, stranded on the northern side of the harbour during a heavy rain squall, but . she was not damaged. TELEGRAMS AND CABLES. LYTTELTON, July 6.—Arrived: Opihi (noon), from Tiniaru; Wainui (11 a.m.), from Dunedin. OAMARU. July 6.-—Arrived; Gale (2 a.m.) and Poolta (6.30 a.m.), from Dunedin. .
FREMANTLE, July 6.—Arrived: Maloja, from London. PANAMA, July s.—Arrived: Rangitane, from Wellington. AVONMOUTH, July s.—Arrived: Raranga, from Wanganui.
