UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF

The Unemployed Women's Committee (24a George street, over Hannah’s) wishes it to be known that it will make up material for any guilds or committees, who are working for the unemployed, or for institutions. It will also do mending or sewing for single unemployed men, if the garments are brought in freshly washed. In the kitchen members will make into jam any fruit or sugar sent in, a small charge only being made for the gas used. Material to make up and old garments washed and unpicked will be very welcome. Some of the girls are doing very good work in this direction, and fioeks for little children were seen made from old dresses and blouses. This serves the double purpose of providing work for the girls and providing clothing for those in need.
