TRAMWAYS V. CALEDONIAN CLUB A match between the Tramways Club and the newly-formed Caledonian Club was played last night in the Tramways Social Room and resulted in a win for Tramways team by 35 games to 13, 12 games being drawn, J. Cunningham captained the Tramways team and A, White the Caledonian. This match was the first of a scries of league games between the various clubs in the city, the score of the first twelve boards to count in the competition. At the conclusion of the match Mr Wilson, president of the Caledonian Club, congratulated the Tramways men on their win, and said ho hoped to see the tables turned in the return match. Mr J. A. Boreham, acting as referee, said it gave him great pleasure to assist in any possible way the good old game, and ho would willingly go to any of the club rooms at any time to help the players.
