THE MINE STRIKE

ND FRESH DEVELOPMENTS [Special to the ‘ Stae.’] AUCKLAND, June 16. There has been no fresh development in the northern coal strike, but a mass meeting is being held at Huntly this afternoon. Commenting on yesterday’s statement by Mr W. D. Holgate, president of the New Zealand Coal Mine Owners’ Association, Mr W. Davison, secretary of the Miners’ District Council at- Huntly, said the matter had passed out of the council’s hands, and any move the miners made now would be actuated by the decision of the union’s federation, through Mr A. M'Lagan, secretary (West Coast).
