WEDDING DAY “ARREST”
ROBERT PEEL'S DESCENDANT As (Joplain T. H. J. I'eel. Chief Constable of Bath, left St. Stephen’s Church recently after his marriage to Miss Daphne Bakenliain, a police officer slipped handrail's on the happy couple “ arresting them for a life sentence.” Police officers pulled the bridal car from the church to the reception, and not until they had alighted were Captain and Mrs Peel relieved oi their ” hr icelets.
Captain Peel is the son of Mr W. Peel, District Registrar of the High Court of Justice. Liverpool, and the late Mrs Peel. He is a descendant of Sir Robert Peel, the founder <4 the force sometimes referred to as “ Peelers.” Ho joined the Liverpool polite as a constable ami rose to the position of chief inspector.
