NEW GUARD’S ACTIVITIES
POLICE REVELATIONS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, May 10. Detectives again raided the headquarters of the New Guard, and seized a number of documents. The Police Commissioner subsequently released the following statement: — “ We received information concerning a plot formed prior to the opening of the harbour bridge to kidnap the Premier, the other members of the Cabinet, and police chiefs, and incarcerate them in the disused Berrima gaol, which was allegedly prepared for their reception. We arc continuing our investigations, and expect further developments.” ALLEGED PLOT DENIED. STATEMENT BY COLONEL CAMPBELL. SYDNEY, May 11. (Received May'll, at 10 a.m.) “ The statements made by Commissioner Childs regarding an alleged plot by the New Guard to abduct Ministers of the Crown and incarcerate them in the Berrima Gaol are utterly without foundation,” stated Colonel Campbell. “ No stick plot was even contemplated, and I defy him or anyone else to prove the contrary. Such an idea is absolutely foreign to our policy and principles.”
