MEN'S ASSOCIATION The Executive Committee of the Otago Hockey Association met last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Dir W. M'Queen occupied the chair, and there were also present Dlessrs F. 11. Brebner, VV. Blakie, W. Gibson, E. Densem, J. M'Haffie, J. Harris, H. Thomson, R. S. Wallace, D. T. Woodfield, J. Starr, C. Mayston, and H. Sew Hoy. The town clerk (Mr G. A. Lowin) wrote stating that, in view of a recent Dlagistrate’s Court ruling, tho council desired to have the Cricket Association and the two Hockey Associations provide Indemnity in case of further accidents in which windows, vehicles, or persons might be damaged or injured, and suggesting that this could best be done by means of an insurance policy being taken out in the council’s favour.—lt was decided to hold tho matter over till next meeting in order that inquiries might bo made into the position. The West Harbour Ladies’ Club wrote stating that it wished to secure a coach, and asked if the association could offer any asistance.—lt was decided to reply that a player _ won Id be found to undertake the coaching of the team.
Mr C. Sow Hoy wrote declining to act on the Junior Selection Committee. Received, Dir G. Cummings to fill the vacancy.
Mr A. J. Hinton wrote that, owing to pressure of other duties, he was obliged to resign from the position of chairman of tno executive. He had also to decline to net on the Senior Selection Committee.—lt was decided to hold over the question of Mr 'Hinton's resignation till next meeting. Mr B. H. Diorris was elected to fill the vacancy on the Selection Committee. The New Zealand Association forwarded a circular letter regarding the proposed tour of Australia by a New Zealand team. It had been decided, tho letter stated, to accept the invitation of the Australian Association, provided that a suitable team could be found. The Australian Association had been asked to suggest the itinerary. Players would have to pay their own way from their home towns to Sydney, all expenses while on tour to bo paid by the Australian Association. The expenses each player would bo required to provide would amount to £2O or £25. Associations were invited to nominate players for the Now Zealand team and also to forward nominations for the office of manager of tho team. —lt was decided to ask tho selectors to forward nominations of players to next meeting. Transfers were granted as follow: T. Arnold (Southland) to Training College. A. K. Baxter (Albany) to Balclutha. L. Souness, P. Every, F. Winton (Training College) to University, L. Hayward (High School Old Boys) to University, L. llothwcll (Wellington University) to Otago University, E. Wilson (Albany) to Balelutha (subject to clearance), H. Pickup (Christchurch Technical Old Boys) to King Edward Technical Old Boys (subject to clearance).
