DIVORCE PETITION GRANTED In the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon Evelyn Haggett petitioned for a divorce from Arnold Aloysius Haggetfc under a separation and maintenance agreement. Tim petitioner said'that she had been married in Dunedin on December, 1919. She and her husband had lived in Queenstown and in Dunedin. There wero two children ol the marriage. After tho birth of the second child tho respondent had become very cruel to her, and had started to drink, and sho had had to go out to work. She and her husband had agreed in October, 1928, to separate. Her husband bad not paid her a penny since the signing of the agreement, and sho had worked for her own living. Evidence was given regarding the serving of tho citation on the respondent m tho Dunedin gaol, the respondent having last month been sentenced to a term of imprisonment. Corroborative evidence having been given, His Honour Mr Justice Kennedy granted a decree nisi, to ho moved absolute at tho expiration of three months.
