SAVOY ATTRACTIONS
The singing of Signorina Graziella Rossi at the Savoy is alfording unalloyed pleasure to afternoon tea patrons this week. This soprano lias the freshness of youth in a voice outstanding for its quality, power, and range. Signorina Rossi is said to be the most remarkable discovery, vocally, in JNew Zealand. For her youth she has unusual concert confidence, and tier presence enhances the charm of her interpretations. Her concert appearances have been too few, and the opportunity of hearing her is being welcomed. Signorina Rossi sings three songs with a freshness and beauty that make a direct appeal to all music lovers. She is assisted by Miss Rita Holmes at the piano, whose accompaniments are always able and sympathetic. A varied programme of chamber music is also given by Miss Holmes and Miss Ethel Wallace (the violinist). These young ladies are most artistic in their presentations, and their programmes are happily chosen to suit all tastes. This week’s programme of song and music at the Savoy can be counted among the best yet offered.
