THE BIRD'S WEDDING
The dicky bird had found a wife, A Robin Redbreast he,_ His wedding day of all his life The happiest must be. He told his mother to prepare A very gorgeous feast, And all his neighbours must be there, The greatest and the least.
He ordered custard, jelly, cake, With fruit of every sort, And what his mother could not make The Robin Redbreast bought. They spread the feast upon the lawn, Where dewdrops sparkled bright, When sunhsine woke the rosy dawn With beams of golden light. The Canterbury bells rang sweet, In song the birds replied, And all the flowers bent down to greet The happy little bride.
