SERVICE

This happened recently in a Chicago studio. A melodramatic sketch was being broadcast from a Chicago studio through W.JZ. Oiie of the station writers was called to the phone, and an angry , voice protested against the sketch.

“They're choking a woman,” the voice said. “ You’ve got to stop it! It’s terrible. My children are frantic!” The writer thought fast and looked at the clock. It was exactly 4.58 p.m. “ I’ll have it stopped in less than two minutes,” he promised. And the sketch was ended in less than two minutes, for it was 5 o’clock and time for another programme. Then the person who had protested phoned and thanked the writer for his prompt service.
