TWO YEARS AGO
CHARGES OF BURGLARY [Psr United Press Association.] NAPIER, April 29. Charges involving burglaries which took place as long ago as 1930 were preferred again William Hamer, aged twenty-seven, and his wife, Constance Emily Hamer, aged twenty-two, in the Police Court to-day. The accused appeared before justices of the peace to answer fifteen joint charges of breaking and entering and theft of goods to the value of £444 Is lid, and one joint charge of theft of goods only, to the value of £l3 2s. Benjamin Hamer, a brother of William Hamer, appeared on charges of receiving stolen goods from the other two accused Following the hearing of the evidence of numerous witnesses Benjamin and William Hamer pleaded guilty and were committed for sentence, and Constance Hamer pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Napier. -
