WEDDING
PULTON—WADDELL. The little chapel in „ the picturesque grounds at Bishopscourt, Christchurch, was the scene of a wedding on Thursday afternoon, when Eileen Beatrice, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred Waddell, of County Down, Ireland, and niece of Bishop West-Watson, was married to Kenneth John, the younger son of the late Eustace Fulton and Mrs Fulton, Dupedin. This was the first occasion on which a marriage had been solemnised in the chapel. It was beautifully decorated with pink dahlias, white chrysanthemums, and autumn foliage. Dean Julius officiated, and Dr T. Leslie Crooke was the organist. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Bishop West-Watson, wore a handsome, long-sleeved gown of rich cream satin, made on classical lines. The softly moulded bodice fell to give a pouched effect oyer the skirt, which fitted to the hips with diagonal crossed pieces, from which graceful flares fell to the ground. The skirt, rounded at the hem, fell to form a short train. Tiny sprigs of orange blossom were placed on the sleeves just above the wrists, and a spray of orange blossom held in place the veil, which was worn off her face.
The veil of fine net, and edged with real Mechlin lace, belonged to the great grandparents of the bride, and was in a deep tint to tone with the frock. She carried a sheaf of arum lililes. The bridesmaid, _ Miss Sheila _ Macpherson, of Dunedin, wore _ a vintage red ninon frock with a fitting bodice, long sleeves, and ankle length skirt. Two narrow frills defined the hipline, and the skirt was edged with _ three picot-edged frills. An elbow frill relieved the plainness of the long sleeves, and her hat was of felt to tone, trimmed with velvet at one side. She carried a bouquet of palest pink carnations.—Christchurch correspondent.
