OUTSPOKEN MINISTER

REV. MR RUTH'S COMMENTS press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, April 19. (Received April 19, at 10 a.m.) The comments of the Rev. Mr Ruth have aroused indignation among union secretaries at the Trades Hall. The secretary of the Labour Council, Mr J. S. Garden, who formerly was a Baptist minister, replied _to Mr Ruth’s statements by challenging him to allow him to take the pulpit next Sunday to speak on the text, “ Blessed are ye when men shall revile you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven.” [The Rev. T. E. Ruth, at the Pitt Street Congregational Church, during an address on ‘ The Police and the New Guard,’ said the police were all right, hut their masters were all wrong. He was amazed at the supine surrender by the citizens to a series of immoral political actions.]
