THE BURWOOD MURDER
¥ SEARCH FOR WANTED MAN NET CLOSING ROUND Pre« Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, April 18. During the week-end the hunt for the man who is wanted in connection .with the murder of Frank Wilkinson and Dorothy Denzel was zealously continued, mounted troopers assisting foot police and private citizens. A section of the latter openly declare that they will lynch the man if they catch him. The police to-day missed their quarry by only half an hour in scrub lands at Dumbleton, an outer suburb. A local citizen, Mr Edwin Robinson, who is acquainted with the “wanted” man, was crossing a paddock when the fugitive jumped up and disappeared in scrub some distance away. The police, who searched the whole of this area yesterday, were summoned and inspected the spot without avail. Robinson states that when he obtained a glimpse of the man he was lying under some undergrowth with his hands tucked under his head. A MAN DETAINED. SYDNEY, April 19. (Received April 19, at 1.10 p.m.) A man has been detained at Bathurst on suspicion of being connected with the Burwood murders.
