ASHBURTON TROTS, The Ashburton Trotting _ Club’s Autumn Meeting was held in ideal weather before a very large attendance. The track was in splendid order. Results:— Allenton Handicap, llosovs. IJm. — 1 Modern Girl (scr) 1, 10 Our Bingen (48yds) 2, 4 Fairyland (48yds) 3. Scratched: Guy Carbine. Won by a neck; three lengths. Time, 3min 40 2-osec. Improvers’ Handicap, USsovs. IJm.—3 Wild Guy (scr) 1, 12 Matchless Bingen (scr) 2, 14 War Officer (scr) 3. Scratched: Lorelei. Won by a length and a-half; three lengths. Time, 3min 27 l-ssec. Gold Cup, 650sovs. 2ra.—2 Satin King (12yds) 1, 4 Free Advice (12yds) 2, 3 Royal Silk (12yds) 3. All started. The winner was coupled with King Pointer. Won by a length; two lengths. Time, imin 25sec. . MASTERTON RACES. The Masterton races were con* tinued in fine weather before a fairly good attendance. GROSE TAKES A STAND. F. J.
