THE MAYORESS’S TAXI.

TO TUB EDITOR, Sir, —I think both “Spectator” and Mr Matt Dickson must be gentlemen gifted with wonderful imagination, seeing they state they were present when the car containing the mayoress and another lady was surrounded by processionists. The event took place at least 25yds down from George street, in St. Andrew street, and not, as both correspondents aver, in George street, while the taxi was waiting for a tram to pass. It can readily be seen that your correspondents’ testimony as to what occurred is, to say the least about it. very weak.—l am, etc., John Gilchkisi. April 13.
