Y.M.C.A. EDUCATIONAL LECTURES

The Y.M.C.A., which has as its root idea the development of Christian character, seeks to offer young men a programme through which they may find Heightened inspiration, a deepened devotion, and broadened understanding* To this end a special series of educational lectures are being held fortnightly throughout the coming winter* The lectures cover a wide range of interesting and edifying subjects, and will he delivered by various professors of the University and other men of note in the city. Through these lectures an opportunity is given of not only peeping into the world of art, ; science, drama, and travel, but of adding to one’s store of general knowledge. The lectures have been primarily arranged for Y.M.C.A. members* but the public are invited to attend,and a collection will be taken from nonY.M.C.A. members. Attention is drawn to Wednesday’s lecture by Professor Hunter on ‘ The Romance of Excavations in Mesopotamia.’ _ The professor is well acquainted with this subject, and will have it illustrated with suitable lantern slides.
