Forecast. The Dominion Meteorologist (Dr E. Kidson) supplied the following at noon to-day;—Tho indications are for variable and moderate breezes, westerly prevailing; isolated misty rain is to be expected, but mainly prospect of fair weather; barometer little movement; sea smooth, tides moderate. The Storm arrived this morning from Pigeon Bay. She was loading to-day at the Rattray street wharf ready to sail to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Port Hunter arrived at Wellington this morning from Wanganui to finish loading. She will sail on Tuesday, earlier than was previously expected, for Halifax and London Via Panama. The Gale is due here on Sunday from the north to load on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Waimariuo leaves here at 11.30 a.m. to-morrow _ for Oamaru,, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Opihi has been fixed to load hero on Wednesday next for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via the usual ports. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Wahine, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.50 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails caught the south express. THE KARTIGI. The Union Company’s coal carrier Kartigi arrived in the Lower Harbour this morning from Newcastle. After being cleared by the port health officer she came up to the Birch street wharf to unload coal. She sails late to-night for Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. TANKER NEW ZEALAND. The motor tanker New Zealand arrived this afternoon from Lyttelton, and came alongside the Victoria wharf to put out bulk motor spirit. She completes discharge at Melbourne. RUAHINE FROM ENGLAND. A later wireless message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from the captain of the Ruahine states that the vessel will now arrive at Auckland about 4 p.m. to-morrow from London. The Ruahine is bringing passengers and mails for New Zealand and cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. lONIC LEAVES BALBOA. The lonic, en route from Southampton, left Balboa on Tuesday for Auckland, where she is due on April 5. MATSON LINER SIERRA. Tho Matson Line steamer Sierra, from San Francisco and Los Angeles via Honolulu, Pago Pago, and Suva, is due at Auckland to-day. She will leave this evening for Sydney. CORNWALL’S ITINERARY. Tho Federal Lino steamer Cornwall left Auckland on Tuesday evening for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool. After completion of discharge tho vessel will load for her Homeward voyage at Port Chalmers, New Plymouth, and 'Wellington. She is to sail finally from Wellington for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain via Montevideo and Dakar, on April 16. . TOFUA’S PASSENGERS. Wood; and twenty steerage. ULIMAROA RETIRING. , The intercolonial ship Ulimaroa is being withdrawn from service, and is being replaced by the t.s.s. Zealandia. Tho first sailing of tho latter will be from Sydney on April 8, and the first trip from Wellington on April 15 for Sydney, The Zealandia is approximately 1,000 tons larger than the Ulimaroa, and is also a much faster ship and has more accommodation than the older vessel. She will carry three classes—saloon, second, and third, and there will be deck accommodation for both first and second classes. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
