ST. ANDREW'S COLLEGE V. M'GLASHAN [Per United Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, March 16. The St. Andrew’s College team found itself in a comparatively sound position at the end of the first day’s play in the annual match with the John M'Glashan College, which began today. The wicket and outfield were fast, but low scoring was the rule throughout the day. St. Andrew’s batted first, and opened unsteadily against a good attack, three wickets falling fast. Later the batting improved, until K. E. Nicholls improved his side’s position greatly, playing all the bowling confidently. M'Glashan College opened fairly well, but a rot sot in after the sixth wicket had fallen, at which stage Shand was howling remarkably well. St. Andrew’s gave a much improved display of batting in their second strike. Details:— ST. ANDREW’S. First Innings. A. J. Henderson c Begg b Lambert 6 J. K. Wellsford b Begg 5 F. R.
