LINERS AT SYDNEY

A STRIKING COINCIDENCE Press Association— By Telegraph— Copyright. SYDNEY, February. 25. The newspapers remark on the striking coincidence that two of the latest additions to the Australian overseas trade, the Matson liner Mariposa and the P. and 0. Company’s Strathnaver, should reach Sydney to-day. Both majestic vessels arrived in purple mists early this morning, which later became bright, sunny, and exhilarating, affording tne passengers and. tourists a unique opportunity of seeing the harbour and Sydney at its best. The Mariposa tqurists, led by Mr Louis Stone, director of the cruise, were given a civic reception, and a, group of the Strathnaver’s passengers was also welcomed by the Lord Mayor. Noteworthy speeches covered a large range of subjects, the keynote of which was trade reciprocity.
