VISITING CYCLISTS ARRIVE ■ Fcrar members of the Winton Amateur Cycle Club, who are to compete at the Otago Amateur Athletic Championships on Saturday afternoon, arrived from the south yesterday morning, and in the afternoon had their first spin on Carisbrook Ground. iiie Winton Club is the latest acquisition to the Otago and Mr R. Souness, who is one of Southland’s best rider#, told a ‘Star’ reporter that fine progress was being made by the new club, which has already staged one big meeting this season, and intends promoting another, early next month. _ He stated that there was every possibility of one or two more new cycling clubs in Southland seeking affiliation with the Otago Centre. The' Invercargill Amateur Athletic Club’s team, under the managership of Mr G. Rodger (president of the club), and members of the St. Paul’s Club team will arrive by motor car to-night. ITio visitors will be quartered at Tattersall’s Hotel. . »
