DAMAGE TO CALEDONIAN GROUND

DRAINAGE BOARD TD COMPENSATE Compensation of £2OO to the Caledonian Society for loss of income suffered through the operations of the Drainage Board in putting a drain through the ground is recommended by the works Committee of the board. The committee reports that the sewer laying in the ground has been completed, and reinstatement of the whole area is to be carried out in accordance with the arrangements agreed upon with the society. These, briefly, provide for the ploughing and clearing of the soil to a depth of about nine inches spreading out, levelling, and rolling the surface spoil from the sewer trench, replacing the soil, and sowing grass seed, preparing cricket pitch, and laying the necessary drain pipes, which will be supplied by the society.
