NATIONAL FLOWER SHOW
LODER GUP TO DUNEDIN AGAIN [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, January 28. The National Flower Show was opened at Christchurch to-day in the King Edward Barracks by Sir Heaton Rhodes. The following awards were announced : Loder Cup.—Bennett and Son, Dunedin. Sutton Cup (most points in vegetables).—J. Carson, Premier Gladiolus. —W. Brockman. Premier Primulinus Hybrid.—W. J. Brailey. Armstrong Cup (most points in gladioli).—C. Mon, White Cup (nurserymen’s exhibit). — J. W. Robinson Gold Medal (most outstanding exhibit). —A. and S. Reid. Bronze Medal. —W. Jones and Son. Silver medals lor displays were awarded to the Christchurch Domains Board of the City Council, and bronze medals for exhibits of citrus and tropical fruit and New Zealand flax. [This is the third competition for the Loder Cup, and Bennett and Sons’ second win.]
