SILVER SNATCHED AT TICKET DDK [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 28. Walking up to the box office of the De Luxe Theatre this evening, an unknown man put his hand through the glass pigeon hole, seized a pile of silver com, _ and decamped down the street. He did not receive much for his daring effort, which was made,in broad daylight, for when the cash was checked up a bare pound was found to bo missing. The theft was made just after the cheapest seats in the theatre had been sold, and therefore just after the early queue had been admitted. Without any ado the man went to the ticket box, and in a second had put his hand through the little hole in the glass. The girl inside grabbed the man’s arm as he seized the cash, but ho was tpo strong, and withdrew it. A tramcar happened to be passing at the time, bound for the eastern suburbs via Kilbimie tunnel. This the thief boarded. The happening had also been witnessed by one of the men ushers, who was standing at the main entrance. The usher got on his motor cycle and managed to stop the car just as it was coming out of the eastern portal of the tunnel. A search for the thief was made, but he had apparently left the car some time before the tunnel was entered^
