PINK LEMONS IN CALIFORNIA
PINK LEMONS IN CALIFORNIA. A pink fruited lemon tree has been discovered in California. It is 1 presumed to be a bud sport from the variegated Eureka lemon tree. As the fruit approaches ripeness it develops a pink colour in the rind, flesh and juice. Tests are being made to see it this sport can be fixed; budwood_ has been inserted in other stocks, and results will be awaited with interest. The tendency of citrus fruits to produce striking bud variations is thus again illustrated, state experts in the Department of Agriculture.
