The Calm arrived to-day from Bluff to unload and load cargo. She is to sail to-morrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Pieton, and Wanganui. Due early this afternoon from the north, the Waimarino is to . put out part cargo at Dunedin. She will then load and sail on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, and Auckland. ‘The Kmi left Wellington yetserday afternoon for Oamaru and Dunedin. The vessel is due here ou Friday to load cargo for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Westport. Fixed to load at Dunedin on Monday, the Waipahi is to sail the next day at noon for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. To-morrow the Waipiata is to leave Auckland for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and Oamaru. CUMBERLAND LOADING. To pick up a consignment of wool for Home, the Federal steamer Cumberland arrived this morning from Lyttelton, and berthed at Port Chalmers. She is timed to sail to-morrow morning for London via Panama. TONGARIRO TO REPLACE CORNWALL. The New Zealand _ Shipping Company has received advice that the Tongarlro is to leave Liverpool for New Zealand on June 25, in place of the Cornwall. WAINUI’S NEXT TRIP. The Wainui, at present laid up at Wellington for annual overhaul and survey, is to leave there on January 23 for Melbourne to load for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. DOCK’S ARRIVAL CELEBRATED. To celebrate the arrival of the jubilee dock at Wellington and the completion of the record,tow by the tugs, Zwarto Zee and Witte Zee, the master mariners of Wellington entertained Captain B. UHart, master of the Zwarto Zee. Captain B. Wetteyrede, master of the Witte Zee, Captain J. De Baar, master of the dock, and other officers of the tugs azzd the dock, at a smoke concert, Representatives were present frozn the Harbour Board, the stripping companies, the Chamber of Commerce, the Engineers Instztutc, and the Customs Department. THE FERRY SERVICE, The Wahine, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.60 this morning. Passengers and mails caught the south express. TAIROA TO FILL UP, Arriving from Timaru this morning, the Shaw, Savill steamer Tairoa berthed at Port Chalmers, where she completes loading for London. She is to leave here on Friday morning, and will go home by way of Panama and Kingston. THE EASTERN TRADER. The Union Company’s Eastern charter, Narbada, is to leave Lyttelton on Saturday for Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff to complete unloading merchandise. She is due here on Tuesday. KAIMIRO TO LEAVE MELBOURNE. The Union Company’s steamer Kaimiro was expected to leave Melbourne to-day for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, Pictou, Napier, and Auckland. WAIKOUAITI FROM SYDNEY. After loading cargo in South Australia, the Union Company’s Waikouaiti is to leave Sydney to-morrow for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru. PERSONAL. Captain C. W. NEW MATSON LINER. Announced in the cables to he shortly leaving America for Sydney, the new Matson liner Mariposa (22,000 tons) developed a speed of twentythree knots on her trials. The Mariposa and her sister ship, the Monterey, which is under construction, are to be'employed in the company s transpacific passenger and cargo service, calling at Auckland. The Vessel will carry only two classes of parsers, first class and cabin class. The fares between Auckland and Sydney will be £l2 10s for first class, and £lO for cabin class. There will be vaiious premiums for superior accommodation, varying from 15s to £3, 1 Before "commencing her regular service from America, to New Zealand and Australia, the vessel will make a prolonged cruise in the Pacific, somewhat similar to that made by the liner Malolo. The Mariposa is to leave New York on January 16, and after visiting Havana,, Cristobal, and Balboa, she will proceed to Los Angeles and ban Francisco, and then return to Los An§lche liner will leave Los Angeles on February 3 for Honolulu, Pago Pago, Suva, .and Auckland, arriving at Auckland at 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, and sailing for Sydney at 6 a.m. on Monday, February 22.
