NGINGONGINGO CASE
[Per Unitbd Phbss Ahocutioh.]
CHRISTCHURCH, January 12. The following letter has been sent by the president of the New Zealand Trotting Conference (Mr H. 11.I 1 . Nicoll) to trotting clubs: — “You will have read in the newspapers, if you have not already received a copy, the statement issued by the president of the New Zealand Trotting Association in connection with the Ngmgongingo case. The contentions as set forth on behalf_ of > the association may be open to criticism, but it is desirable that the prestige and authority of the New Zealand Trotting Association should be upheld so far as may be possible, and it would not be seemly that any argument ensue in connection with the resignation of a majority of the members of the association until the matter has been discussed and finalised by the New Zealand Trotting Conference. The executive of the conference is satisfied that the delegates appointed by clubs to attend the special meeting of the conference on January 21 will be able to deal with the business on its merits when the facts are placed before them.”-
