A number of buzzards which have been so imprudent as to select the gilded dome of the new Capitol in Havana (Cuba) as a suitable landingplace, will henceforth regret their choice. So vexed are the members of the Senate at this disrespect for their fine new building, that the dome, which was the favourite rnosting-place of the buzzards, will in future be charged with electricity. Any bird larAing there will from now on, in all senses of the phrase, be “ bumped off.” Plans to test the eyes of motorists in every State in the United States are being advocated. In a single State 2,000 persons who applied for motor licenses were found to be blind in one eye.
