Ij) THE HEW YEAR TOURNEY
The Otago Lawn. Tennis Association’s championship tournament was commenced at Logan Park yesterday. Entries in all sections were fairly good, and, notwithstanding a disconcertingly high wind which swept the courts all day, the standard ?f play was commendabiy high. The commencement of the day’s play ,was delayed until 11 a.m. as a result of the rain that fell in the early morning. Good progress was made with the programme,, however, and, under the able and energetic direction of Messrs E. D. » Duthie, R. Phillipps, and K.
