PALMERSTON N., December 23, It being an off morning, activities were restricted to a minimum at Awapuni. All horses being worked on the plough, no last gallops were attempted. H. Cutts has arrived with Cricket Bat, Winsome Hind, Zeebnigge, Babel, Fleeting Glance, Sailor’s Love, and Ball Dross. Cricket Bat looks in great order. R. E. Covcney will do the riding on the first day and A. Eastwood will assist on the second day. H. Tupea’s two representatives in the Palmerston North Stakes, Kahikatoa and a younger full brother, nave been scratched, these being the only' defections announced for the fixture. Rain has again set in.
