Thomas visited Smithfield and inspected a special Christmas display at Simons and Swain’s, Empire Pork House. He distributed the medals won in a competition, ns follows: — Australian: Fitzroy, I; Anchor, 2. Now Zealand: Waionc, 1; Auckland Farmers, 2. The experts wore greatly pleased with the quality of the pork. Sir Thomas Wilford and Sir Granville Ryrie (Australian High Commissioner) and a dozen press photographers were present.
