ORDER OF RECHABITES
The fortnightly meeting of the Hope of Dunedin Tent, No. 20, was held in the tent room, Marshall's Chambers, Moray place, on Monday, when the Chief Rider, Bro. M. Walkinshaw, presided over a good attendance of members. Reports show quite a number of members laid aside with sickness, and amounts for sick pay were passed for payment. Applications were received for relief on account of unemployment from two members, and were referred to the committee set up to deal with cases of hardship as they come to hand. The syllabus for 1932 was set up-, and is now in the hands of the printers. A fine variety of items, both educational and harmonious, has been compiled, every endeavour being made to interest the members throughout the coming
year. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows Chief Ruler, Sister B. K. Gain; Deputy Ruler, Sister Hill; Past Chief Ruler, Bro. M.- Walkinshaw; secretary, Bro. A. V. Gain; treasurer, Bro. A. T. MTndoe; money steward, Bro. L. V. Gain; levite, Sister E. Parkinson; guard, Sister Holmes; superintendent juveniles, Sister Mrs Coulter; assistant superintendent juveniles, Sister E. K. Gain and Bro, L. V, Gain. The installation of officers was duly carried out by District Guardian Bro. A. V. Gain, ably assisted by Sister M. Doig as installing levite. This being the last meeting for the year the adult members united with the Primrose Juvenile Tent members, and a pleasant hour was spent. A large number of parents were also present, and were accorded a hearty welcome. A vote of thanks was accorded the superintendents for their untiring efforts and resultant good work achieved with the children. The season’s greetings were extended and reciprocated between the officers and members, after which the session was closed with the usual ceremonies.
The Crystal Spring,Juvenile Tent held its final meeting for the year in Caversham Methodist Hall on Wednesday evening last. C.R. Bro. Vincent Gain presided over a good attendance of members, and the business was disposed of expeditiously to allow ample time for the break-up social which followed. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—C.R., Sister Joyce Carrington; D.R.. Sister Winnie Gerrie; levite, Sister Audrey Brown; guard, Bro. Lindsay Gerrie; secretary, Sister Gertie Adam. Prizes were distributed by Assistant Superintendent Sister M. Rea to the successful competitors of various competitions held during the year, and games and amusements were indulged in to the enjoyment of all.
