ESSALLOPED TOMATOES

Arrange sliced tomatoes and fresh breadcrumbs in alternate layers in a greased baking dish. Season well between the layers, sprinkle buttered breadcrumbs on the top and bake in a moderate oven until the tomatoes are cooked and the crumbs brown. Slices of onion will give added flavour if so desired.
