WOOLLEN MILL WORKERS. The application for the exclusion of woollen mill workers from the operation of the general order of the Arbitration Court reducing the wages 10 per cent, was refused in the judgment of the Arbitration Court, which was made available to-day.—Wellington Press Association telegram. A CHILD’S DEATH. A verdict that death was due to poisoning was returned by the coroner at the inquest on a nine months old infant, Peter Denton, who died on November 29 as a result of taking pills. The coroner said he did not think the child’s custodian, Airs Evelyn Lister, could bo blamed. The most that could be said was that she was somewhat careless in giving the child a bottle of pills containing a dangerous poison.—Gisborne Press Association telegram. STEAMERS BREEZE AND STORM. The Breeze discharged its cargo in a dry condition this morning, and will be docked on Monday. The damage is believed to be very slight. The Storm, it appears, fared worse than the Breeze. One plate was perforated on the port side near the bow, and the rivets on a number of plates were sheared off. The nature of tho object she struck off Akaroa is unknown.—Christchurch Press Association telegrma.
