THREE MATCHES
ONE A TEST. [Pm Uxitid Pjssss Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, December 9. The New Zealand Cricket Council has received no cable or other advice confirming the news message which states that the South Africans may visit New Zealand, but it is assumed that the message is correct. Three matches will be played—at Auckland,! Wellington, and Christchurch, of which the second (at Wellington) will be a test. It is stated that the guarantee of £1,200, which will he exclusive of locomotion and hotel expenses, will leave no profit on the tour, but the official view is that any potential loss will be offset by the stimulus given to New Zealand cricket.
