SERIOUS DAMAGE !H CANTERBURY [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 25. Eight degrees of frost last night caused extensive damage to young fruit, new potatoes, and tomatoes, throughout North Canterbury. Further damage was caused by a sharp hailstorm in some districts. One grower lost six acres of marrows and pumpkins. At Leeston, hailstones broke windows. Nearly every houso_ was touched in this way, and the skylights at the railway station were smashed, as well as the Post Office windows.
