HONGKONG, November 24,

Following an attack by pirates on the British steamer Hanyang last week, the British destroyer Sterling embarked Chinese troops from Swatow and proceeded to search the coast. The destroyer landed a strong party at Namoa Island, the pirates being rounded up and most of the looted cargo recovered. Thirty arrests were made. The destroyer is returning to Swatow, and will hand over the prisoners to the Chinese authorities.
