(Hon, D« Jones) states that for the nine montln ended September 30, 1931, when compared with the similar period-of last year, the number of mining privileges actually granted increased by 51 per cent., and the number of miners’ right* by 99i per cent. No fewer than 636 mining privileges and 2,023 miners’ rights were granted during the latter period. . . . This is further evidence' of the taco that the interest evinced in mining has increased enormously during recent months, and from present indications such interest is still increasing. As was pointed out by the Minister of Mine* ■previously gold production during recent months has also increased, and the number of miners and others selling gold is very much greater now. than at this time last year.
