A retired army officer was watching a number of youngsters labouring over the preparation of an al fresco meal. “ Look bore, yon fellows,” lie said genially, “ let 'me _show you bow to make a quick-cooking fire. When I was out in India 1 often went into tho jungle, shot my food, skinned and plucked it, and ate it, and was back in camp within an hour. That happened in tho Himalayas.” Turning to one lad, he said: “You’ve heard of tho Himalayas, haven’t you?” “ Yes, sir,” said the bov, “ and of Ananias.” And a former husband would like to know if one may include alimony payments under the heading of war-debts moratorium.
