ATTEMPT ABANDONED LONDON, September 11. (Received September 15, at 10 a.m.) “ The Channel inis not beaten me,” said Aliss Copplestono on her return from Gris Nesc. She is remaining in Europe for the winter, and will try again next year. The weather was impossible for the greater part of her stay at Gris Non. She was thrice ready to start, but the pilot boat twice failed to arrive. The third time a storm sprang up. Aliss Copplestono was the last of tho fifteen aspirants to abandon the attempt.
