CONVENTION IN SYDNEY Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY. August 19. The first International Christian Endeavour Convention to bo held in the Pacific was opened to-day in Sydney, when upwards of 2,000 delegates from all parts of Australia and New Zealand were present. The Rev. Lionel Fletcher, the New Zealand president of the movement, is representing the world president, Mr Daniel Folding, of the United States. Ho conducted the inaugural proceedings in Sydney Town Hall, and he will play a prominent part in all the subsequent sessions until closing day, next Tuesday. Mrs Fletcher will officially open the junior exhibition to-night, and a huge welcome rally will be held in this connection in the Town Hall.
