SCHOOL CONCERT

At tile? Town Hall. Bavensbonrne. Inst evening, before n crowded house, a very enjoyable entertainment was given bv the pupils of the school, under the direction of the head master (Mr Milter) and stall. ‘ The Midshipmitc,’ an operetta in four acts, was most capably staged. The singing, dancing, and acting of the children reflected great credit on the training given bv the staff. At the conclusion of the concert Mr T. Harridge (mayor of the borough), in moving a vote of thanks on behalf of the district, congratulated the teachers on the excellent evening's entertainment provided, and also brought under the notice of the audience the fact that the ponnd-a-wcck scheme for iho relief of the unemployed was now organised, and that the'collectors had been allotted districts to canvass.
