BELIEF OF DISTRESS
TO TUE EDITOR. Sir,—! am surprised that Air Black, tho chief magistrate of Dunedin, and one so deeply interested in relief work, is ignorant of what St. Kilda residents are doing to support the city relief depots, lie states, in his letter to the Mayor of St. Kilda, “ 1 find the appeal for 11b of groceries per week is bringing quite a lot of groceries from the various parts of Dunedin, and possibly your people would take this up enthusiastically.” I should like to inform Air Black that St. Kilda residents have already taken this up enthusiastically and arc sending : n weekly supplies, which are acknowledged as St. Clair donations and yet are collected from residents as far cast as Alorean street. I believe the same state of affairs exists on the .Musselburgh side of our borough.—l am, etc., ' Richardson Street. August 5.
