ST. CLAIR BOWLING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The president T. C. Coni!) occupied the chair on Wednesday evening at the annual meeting .of the above club. There was a large and enthusiastic attendance. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, referred to the loss the club had suffered in the deaths of Messrs W. V. Kingston, J. G. Briggs, and J. Sparrow, the members showing their respect in the usual manner. He also referred to tlie great improvement in the financial position and to greatly increased social activities in the clubroom. Messrs Thomas Smth and D. M. Fustier also reviewed the position, the latter complimenting the committee tn its management during the year. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows;—President, Mr Thomas Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs D. M. Blytli and R. Scryjngeour; committee— Messrs H. L. Humphreys, R. Wilson, 11. Malcolm, and W. Speight; honorary secretary, Mr G. Davis; honorary treasurer, Mr J. Nicolson (re-elected) ; honorary, auditor, Mr.P. J. Ren del; solo selector, Mr T. Smith; club ties, Mr T. Smith; Social Committee —Messrs H. L. Humphreys, J. S. Austin, C. T. Price, and R. Wilson; Billiards Committee —Messrs L. Johnston, G. Davis, and J. Nicolson; centre delegates— Messrs D. M. Pastier, R. Malcolm, and T. Smith (executive member). It w r as decided to enter twelve rinks for the Saturday matches and to enter for the four-rink championship, the Adess Shield rink competition, and the champion of champions competition. It was also decided that the club tics consist of champion singles, champion pairs, champion rinks, handicap pairs, and Hancock Ferns rinks. It was further, resolved that the champion singles and champion pairs bo on the two-life system and the champion pairs and rinks be by own selection, the Hancock Ferns rinks to bo by grading and chib selection. After -further discussion regarding green questions, hearty votes of thanks were passed to the retiring president and officials. LADIES’ SECTION. 1 There was a large attendance at the annual meeting, and alter the adoption of the annual report and balancesheet the election of office-bearers was proceeded with, the result being as follows : —President, Mrs Brown (reelected); vice-president, Mrs I astior (re-elected); secretary.
