MEN’S HOCKEY
SATURDAY'S MATCHES The fortnightly meeting of the executive of the Otago Hockey Association was held in the Y.M.G.A. rooms last evening, Mr A, J. Hinton in the chair. There was also present Messrs W. M‘Queen, D. Woodfield, D. Gurr, J. Harris, If. Hey, J. Starr, C. Belheld, E. Ilennick, J. M'Haffie, E. Ward, and H. Sew Hoy. / It was decided that on the completion of the second round of third grade matches a third round should be commenced. A letter was received from _ the South Canterbury Hockey Association suggesting July 18 as a suitable date for interprovincial matches against Otago A and B teams at Dunedin.— The Secretary was instructed to reply stating that the date suggested would bo suitable, and it was decided to postpone all senior and second grade games on that date. It was decided that the interprovmcial -match, Otago v. Canterbury, should bo played at Christejmrch on August I provided that Canterbury still holds the challenge shield on that date. The following team was selected to represent Otago:—Goal, It. Twose; full-backs —I j. Ireland. C. Bell) eld, _ It. Hanning; halves—B. Morris (captain), A. Jennings, H. Gurr, It. Bond; forr wards —G. Silver, L. Silver, C. Mayston, E. Ilennick, A. Thomson, and A. Baxter.
Tho following is the draw for Saturday ;
' First Grade. —Albany v. University A, at Oval No. I (Messrs J. Starr and D. Woodfield); T.C.0.8. v. University B, at Oval No. 2 (Messrs C. Abernethy and H. Payton); Training College v. H. 5.0.8., at Oval No. 3 (Messrs C. Sew Hoy and A. Chapman) ; City, a bye. Second Grade.—Albany v. H. 5.0.8., at Oval No. 2, 1.30 (Mr A. Sew Hoy); University C v. H. 5.0.8. Colts, at Oval No. 3, 1.30 (Messrs J. Harris and C. G. Sew Hoy); University E v. Training College, at Logan Park (Mr T. Penny); Caversham v. T.C.0.8. B, at Logan Park (Mr D. Gurr) ; University D, a bye. Third Grade. —High School A v. Technical College, at Logan Park, 1.30 (Mr T. Penny); High School B v. Primary Schools, at Logan Park, 1.30 (Mr D. Gurr).
