BRILLIANT COMEDY PLAY
‘ HAPPY-GO-LUCKY O’FLYHN ’ Another appreciative audience witnessed tho final presentation of the orilliant Irish comedy play, ‘ Happy-go-lucky O’Flynn,’ at His Majesty’s Theatre last night. This three-act comedy abounded in delightful Irish humour and witticisms, and, interpreted by an excellent cast of players, it offered first-class entertainment. Mr Ronald Riley displayed great talent in the leading role, and Miss Doreen Scott was most dainty and charming as Rosie Doyle. Miss Mario D’Alton and Mr Josejih Lanpliier provided much of the comedy, and others in the cast were M iss Miriam Osbourne, Mr J. Vincent White, Mr Bernard Beeby,. and Mr Stanley Brogden. ‘ CHARLEY’S AUNT ’ Brandon Thomasi’s great farcecomedy, ‘ Charley’s Aunt,’ will be revived for the last two nights of the season by the Ronald Riley Company, commencing to-night. It is a remarkable play, inasmuch as it lias held tho stage for over forty years, and is still “ current cash ” as a theatrical attraction. Ronald Riley played throughout (he English provinces with the late Charles Howitt, some time co-star with W. S. Penley, the original of the play, and from him learned much of tho “ original ” business of the role. In his interpretation of Babs he has embodied the “ silly ass ” touch of which Penley was such a master, and in contrast ono or two scenes at the end of tho play stand in high relief. Doreen Scott will bo Ella Delahay, Joseph Lanpliier the amorous lawyer Spettigtio, and Mario D’Alton Donna Lucia, tho genuine aunt. As it is some years since tho hardy annual was last seen here (with Norman Aitken in the title role), it should meet with a hearty re-co->tion from young and old. To-morrow- afternoon a bargain matinee will be given, at which reduced prices will rule. The box plans are at The Bristol and day sales at Hall’s Fruit Shop.
