MIDDLE-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP SYDNEY, May 3. The season was opened at the Sydney Stadium with an exciting and rough bout for the middle-weight title of Australia between Jack Hammon, 10.13, the defender, and Jim Deakin, 11.1, the challenger. Each man secured a fall, but Hammon won on points, though Deakin displayed marked cleverness. , LONDOS BEATS STEELE NEW YORK, May 1.
