WELLINGTON, February 17
The Secretary of the General Post Offco is advised that the following report has been received from the postmaster at Kaikoura to-day:—“ The following piece of wreckage was found on Kaikoura bench on Sunday morning:—Side and crosspiece of a panelled cabin door 4ft Sin long by 21in wide, of 4 x 2 kauri timber; crosspiece 9in wide. Tho hinges have been wrenched off. The top part of the door is painted white and tho lower blue grey; evidently not long in the water, as no barnacles were attached.” To ascertain if tho wreckage found at Kaikoura might bo from the missing yacht Windward the builder of the Windward was approached. Ho had no hesitation in stating that the wreckage was not part of the craft. There was nothing on the Windward as large as that found, in addition to which the Windward had no doors.
