'n the second round of tho men’s singles A. C. Steadman (Auckland) heat L. Berg (New Plymouth), A. L. Franco (Wellington) beat K. W. Dyer t Wellington), U. A. Court (Otago) boat R. B. Hardy (Auckland), T. Rhodes Williams (Christchurch) beat E. Ogicr (Wanganui), N. U. C. Wil'son (Wellington) heat A. K. Turner (Auckland), M. L. Lampe (Wanganui) boat W. J. Melody (Wellington), ,J. C Charter; (Whangarei) beat R. J Pickwoll (New Plymouth). In tho third round Steadman heat Davys, and Fianeo heat Court. In the men's doubles Steadman and Wilson won their matches in the first and second rounds. In the ladies’ singles Mrs Berg (New' Plymouth) beat Miss G. Preedy (Wellington), Airs Melody (Wellington) beat Miss Best (Wanganui), Miss M. APFariane (Auckland) beat Miss Zeiwler (Wanganui). In th> second round Miss Jean Ward (Stratford) beat Miss Todd (Wellington) Miss Ramsay (Auckland) boat Miss Mackay (Whangarei). In the ladies’ doubles Mrs Melody and Miss M'Farlanc heat Misses Ward and Mackay.
In the second round of the mixed doubles N. R. C. Wilson and Mrs Melody heat Dickie and. Miss Grahamo.
